Vienna to Abe's

Have you ever been out skiing in the backcountry and not quite made it home when you should have due to mediocre decision making? Chance are, if you have skied enought times, this has happened to you. Well, this is exactly what happened to me this past weekend. Although no one was injured, I had a little reality check/epiphany of sorts. Not being able to make a phone call to loved ones to tell them of your status helps no one. Telling people of your plans to ski will not only make everyone aware of your planned route, it will also give them a better chance of finding you should the snowball factor hit. I need to do a much better job of letting people know where I am going and when I will be back. I am getting smarter and smarter through the experiences I live through, even though it can be very hard on the ones I love from time to time. Here are a few shots from this past weekend's tour.

So true, Zach. I always tell Ian this when he heads out on his dirtbike. I'm sure I sound like a broken record most of the time. Glad you guys made it home safely!
