Vienna to Abe's

Have you ever been out skiing in the backcountry and not quite made it home when you should have due to mediocre decision making? Chance are, if you have skied enought times, this has happened to you. Well, this is exactly what happened to me this past weekend. Although no one was injured, I had a little reality check/epiphany of sorts. Not being able to make a phone call to loved ones to tell them of your status helps no one. Telling people of your plans to ski will not only make everyone aware of your planned route, it will also give them a better chance of finding you should the snowball factor hit. I need to do a much better job of letting people know where I am going and when I will be back. I am getting smarter and smarter through the experiences I live through, even though it can be very hard on the ones I love from time to time. Here are a few shots from this past weekend's tour.

Viva El Weeds!!

Well, they came back, if only for a short time. The Weeds made it to Idaho for a quick 4 day trip spanning this past weekend and what a trip it was. From skate skiing out the North Fork of the Big Wood, to a Suns Hockey Game, to a sled trip up and stay over at Fisher Creek, it was quite a weekend. Thanks for coming to town Erin and Gabe! Here are some pics from another great weekend, enjoy-

Headwaters

Matt and I ventured out on sleds for the first time today to see if we couldn't educate ourselves on how to ride, as well as to check out the terrain that exists out there. Here a few shots from our blue bird Idaho Saturday-

Bench Yurt

Sarah and I had the amazing opportunity to join Rachel Wolfe, David Lloyd and friends at the Bench Yurt above Redfish Lake this past weekend. I think it was the coldest weekend so far this year, with temps recorded at Stanley on Sunday morning of -30 F! The whiskey, blower pow, sauna, great friends and amazing scenery out-weighed the cold weather by a mile. Here are some pics from our adventure, thanks again Rachel and David for organizing!
